With all the Holiday Event planning, Thanksgiving, upcoming Christmas, school holiday activities, etc, etc, etc, etc…. I’m starting to feel the drain. It’s exhausting trying to keep up with so much! Now that Thanksgiving has moved to the past, I can start looking forward to the rest of the year. I had been ahead on my holiday gift knitting, but in the last week, I’ve fallen woefully behind. But, I refuse to let the external crazy make me internally nuts. All the more reason why I am beyond grateful for our quiet, uneventful Thanksgiving.

Hedrick Family ThanksgivingIt was just the husband, kids, and I, making it blissfully peaceful and heartwarming. It really was quite idealistic because my children were actually WELL BEHAVED. Wonders never cease!

We feasted on a simple affair of turkey, green bean supreme (I have to share that recipe sometime – it’ll blow your mind), sweet potato souffle, sauteed kale and bell peppers, and cranberry sauce. Oh, and don’t forget the garlic rolls. Yum! We also enjoyed chocolate and pumpkin pies for dessert, so it really couldn’t get much better. Oh wait, it can! I got some spinning in while the turkey roasted and am thrilled with what I think is the best job I’ve ever done Navajo plying! The girls and I also worked on getting our Christmas tree up, too, which instantly put me in a festive mood.

Now, it’s back to the grind of trying to make a living amid all the holiday finalization. Grin! What all do you have left to take care of for the holiday knitting?
