My goodness, it has been one of those weeks. The children seeming to have lost their minds with attitude, the husband moping about because of all the rain and being cooped up inside, and my work load behaving so irrationally that my calendar looks like a monster truck ran across it. Trying to get it all done, keep up, stay ahead … it’s enough to make one go screaming for the hills!
Remember those old spa product commercials? “Calgon, take me away!”
I decided to take a page from it, although it was certainly not of the bath variety. I needed a treat, something lavish and beautiful to remind me of the better things in life (outside of the attitude, moping, and crazy). I immersed myself into a delectably textural, soft, insanely rich-feeling yarn from Anzula, called Cole.
Oh, Anzula, how do I love thee? Can I even count the ways? The rich colors of the Anzula yarn lines make my heart pitter-pat, but its the luxury that pulls me in, enchanting me with its supple, opulent fibers.
This Aqua colored delight is a sinful blend of silk and camel, whirled into a bulky yarn that will shine in any of your cable or textured knitting.
I’m not a spinning expert, but I’m pretty sure it is considered a cabled yarn, with (2) 2-ply strands spun together to created a 4 ply. It’s amazingly strong, durable, and will hold up well for just about ever. I have enough, I think, to knit a cowl or scarf …
We all need a little extravagance sometimes; a yarn that delights as well as it holds up. Cole is definitely the answer to that!
Come back tomorrow for the stitch pattern I used in the swatch.
