My stitch play this week is just a hint of cables and a hint of lace. You know, the foundations of all knitterly delight? Combine those two elements into an easy rib and you have a timeless stitch that will never go out of style.
Just A Hint (mult of 7 sts)
Rows 1, 3, 5, and 7 (WS): *K3, p4; rep from * to end.
Rows 2, 4, and 6 (RS): *K4, yo, p3tog, yo; rep from * to end.
Row 8: *2/2 LC, yo, p3tog, yo; rep from * to end.
To work a 2/2 LC, slip the next two stitches into a cable needle and hold to the front of your knitting. Knit the next two stitches on the left knitting needle and then knit the stitches from the cable needle. (PS. If you want to learn a bit more about cables, I have an online class that teaches everything you could ever want to know. Grin).
What do you think? Have you played with this stitch before? What would you like to see it used in?
Tabetha plays with different yarns and stitch patterns pretty regularly and writes about her experimentation here on the blog in the categories: Yarn Play and Stitch Play. Join her in swatching and playing to uncover the delightful characteristics of new yarns and patterns!
