School is out, my husband is home following his surgery, I’m glued to the desk for this obscene amount of work, and I am still alive. Yep, still alive. Which is more than I can say for my poor garden after a wicked bout of hail last week. The kids last day of school consisted of Field Day, where they played non-stop. My oldest was so proud of herself for achieving a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbon (“my goal” she said). In fact, she came in 2nd on one event, but because she didn’t have a 3rd place ribbon again and didn’t want to two 2nd place ribbons, she traded with the 3rd place classmate. Haha! Despite that fun, now they are underfoot and clamoring for my attention at home while I try to get a bit of work done. Ok, more than a bit – at this point, I still have a book to finish with photoshoots scheduled this week, editing next week, and final edits the week after. I won’t even mention the 20+ other patterns I have to finish writing for another project before July!

My mind keeps going back to my delicious break away from reality and into the fiber-filled world that is The National NeedleArts Association trade show (TNNA).

It was quite the experience this time because a haunted house attraction and a trumpet convention were going on the same weekend!! Knitters shocked by zombies, zombies enamored with knitters, and both groups amused with the trumpeters. It was quite a wildly entertaining time!

Here’s my photo journal of the favorite things of the weekend!

My two new friends, Ashley and Ally, testing out their “big” knitting skills at the Colinette Yarns booth.

There was so much eating, so much laughing, so many new friends made, and so much to see! It feels all like a blur now …

While at TNNA, I picked up my fancy new business cards for the new job, so I thought I’d tease you with those!

Can you guess yet?

I came home so inspired! I have quite a few new products to review, including delicious yarns like that Anzula Silken, Song and Telluride by Classice Elite, Crater Lake by Stitch Sprouts, Zealana’s Chunky Air,  a FABULOUS little bag by Bink Waffle, my favorite new case by Chica, and a couple of exciting looking books. Oh, I was so excited to sign copies of my new baby blanket booklet, Blankies Just for Baby (which I’ll tell you all about soon) – When it comes to laying my “autograph” down like I’m something important, I feel like such a poser! But, people humored me. 🙂
