I just got home from a week long trip to TX (not including the 4 days of driving) and I think it is safe to say that I am wiped. This trip was particularly special, though, because I was able to see my sisters (it’s been a couple of years), meet my 1 year old nephew, Ethan, and get to know my 3 year old niece, Eva (who I haven’t seen since she was 3 months old). My gracious parents hosted us crazy kids with far too much grace and patience. Grin.

We went to be there for my step-dad’s Change of Command Ceremony, where he handed¬†over the reigns of the coast guard station to a new commanding officer (he left Galveston and is going to be commanding the Sabine station this August).

I still have a TON of photos to edit (since I was informed that I was the “official” photographer – HA!), but I did a quick edit on these three that day.

I brought a ton of knitting, but did any of it get done? No … it sits here in a pile on my desk, completely unworked.

It was so bloody hot, but totally worth it. I miss my family already. <3 What have you been up to this summer?
