Apparently, I’m on an alpaca kick these days, but it’s easy to see why … a) darn cute animal, b) so soft, and c) a lightweight fiber that lends itself well to these muggy hot days of summer! And boy is it hot here in Texas (I’m here visiting my wild and crazy family)!
Want to get a sneak peek at something new and purdy? It isn’t even out yet! Telluride by Classic Elite Yarns. I picked up this sample beauty at the last TNNA show (The National NeedleArts Association) to test out ( it’ll be in stores this September). Delicious light with a soothingly rustic blend of alpaca, linen, and Donegal, you can’t help but to be enchanted.
Even knitting my swatch up in size US 4 resulted in a surprisingly bouncy, squishy fabric that feels lovely against the skin. Don’t be afraid to use larger or smaller needles when knitting with Telluride; I think its beautiful elasticity and depth will be enhanced in so many ways.
Telluride is easily a classic fiber that you’ll savor for any garment or accessory. Keep a look out this September as it starts arriving at yarn stores near you! Swing back by tomorrow for the pretty little stitch pattern I used.
